How do I update my Pata Card Reader?

Pata Card Reader software updates include improvements and required security updates. 

There isn't much you need to do, as the Card Reader will update automatically when it's not in use and connected to power. 

If you need to manually check for an update on the Card Reader: 

1. Make sure it's plugged in and connected to power
2. Press and hold the power button until the screen displays the power off option
3. Tap Power off
4. After approx 5 seconds, press and hold the power button to turn the Card Reader back on

The update should then start and once it's completed, you can resume taking payments.

Please Note: Failing to install a required update can prevent the Pata Card reader from accepting payments, so keeping it up to date is necessary to ensure efficient payments, but also to apply security updates, and ensure compliance with card network and issuer requirements (this is technical talk for card types like Visa, Mastercard etc)
