How do Notifications work?

Using notifications is a simple and effective way of communicating with your client, keeping them up to date with every update, or reminding them they have an appointment to avoid no-shows.
Notifications can be sent by:
- Text (SMS) - you will get 150 free texts a month, and once these have been used up, you'll need to top up. See pata.pet/pricing for more info.
Pata encourage enabling both email and text notifications to Clients as emails can be easily missed, and this helps keep the Client accountable and reduce late cancellations and no-shows.
How to view notifications
- Click on the Settings icon on the side menu
- Select the Notifications section
There are 2 tabs - appointments and reminders.
Each notification/reminder will be labelled with SMS and/or Email if these have been activated (both are enabled by default), and whether the notification is enabled. You cannot add notifications, but you can add reminders.
By default, there are 5 appointment notifications and 1 reminder that are ready for use and enabled when you've onboarded:
Appointment notifications:
- New appointment - triggered when a new appointment is created.
- Cancelled appointment - triggered when an appointment is cancelled by changing the appointment status.
- Rescheduled appointment - triggered when you reschedule an appointment
- Missed appointments - triggered when an appointment status has been updated to "no-show"
- Thank you for visiting - triggered when the Sale has been completed and the appointment status has been updated to "finished".
Reminders:
- X time before appointment - triggered time before the appointment you set. Options are:
- 30 minutes
- 1 hour
- 3 hours
- 1 day
- 3 days
- 5 days
- 1 week
While you can't add new appointment notifications, you can add additional reminders as needed.
Note: Ensure that when you add a new Client or you update existing Clients, their contact details are correct and notifications are enabled.
